Barb Kreisle

Lead Guide

Barb has raced bicycles for nearly 15 years, competition on the NORBA circuit and in multi-day as well as 24 hour competitions, and still lives For The Ride.   Having experienced the hard knocks associated with learning to ride in the Arizona desert, Barb enjoys teaching others how to enhance their riding abilities, technical skills, and safety on the trail.

Whether you are 65 years old and trying mountain biking for the first time or a young professional rider moving up in the cycling ranks, Barb has the experience and enthusiasm to help you achieve your goals.

Eric Parks

Lead Guide

A true cycling fanatic, Eric is crazy about all things two wheeled – from mountain and road biking to single-speeds and tandems.  Eric is highly dedication to the sport of cycling and has a passion for exploring the world by bicycle.

Whether for display of guts and glory during a 24 hour endurance race, or for pure recreational enjoyment, Eric's love of cycling is contagious.

With additional interests that range from rock climbing and camping to cooking fabulous meals and yoga, Eric is a true outdoor enthusiast and an outstanding cycling guide.

Diane Parks

Lead Guide

A competitive cyclist, who's interests include rock climbing, kayaking, and hiking, and also cooking, yoga and camping, Diane brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our adventure vacations and organized rides.

Known for her high endurance level and passion for the sport, Diane enjoys sharing her cycling experience and helping our guests meet their goals. She is also always ready to answer if someone decides to push the pace.

Joey Erwin

Lead Guide

A natural athlete with enviable skills, Joey mastered the technical aspects of riding during his early days riding BMX.  Those skills earned Joey the coveted titles of Downhill World Champion and National Cross-Country Champion. 

During his racing career and beyond, Joey has travelled extensively with his bike.  With depth of knowledge and love for action sports, Joey brings unmatched riding skills, a cool temperament, and usually an interesting tale of travel or mischief to share.

When not riding, Joey is doing his part to raise the next generation of adventure athletes.  Although fatherhood threatens to temper his spirit, Joey remains one of the most talented riders in the sport and a great adventure guide.

Carter Thomas

Director of Flight

The ultimate adventure athlete, Carter pushes his limits on all types of terrain using many available forms of sporting equipment.  With unmatched skills cultivated on the BMX and motocross track, a laid back personality, a willingness to try anything and the experience to pull it, Carter brings fun and excitement to every tour.  

One of Southern California’s premier kiteboarders and a certified instructor, Carter takes For The Ride off terra-firma and into the water.  His natural teaching abilities, experience in the hospitality industry, and vast knowledge enable guests to meet new challenges and exceed their goals.

Sean "Boomer" Duncan

BMX Freerider

A BMX racer and dirt jumper for over 22 years, with the charisma of your favorite bar tender, Sean Duncan brings considerable talent to the For The Ride team.  

Whether it is guiding groups of BMX grommets around the infamous Sheep Hills, snappin’ gates at Orange “Y” BMX, or freeriding the California mountains, Sean lives on the edge and loves it fast and loose from top to bottom, through the turns and over the jumps.       

Kirk Brewer

Island Guide

With proven skills and a McGyver-like ability to solve any problem we encounter out on the trail, Kirk is a fantastic guide and a valuable member of our team.

Now located on the Big Island of Hawaii, Kirk has been instrumental in coordinating and planning our latest Hawaii adventures.   From the snow on Mauna Kea to the green sand at South Point, Kirk has explored the many adventure opportunities this island has to offer.
