Our trip includes all lodging and meals, ground transportation - including to and from the airport, support vehicles carrying snacks, supplements, and drinks during the rides, the support and camaraderie of experienced guides, mechanics, and special guests from Specialized. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to meet the professional racers, attend private industry and VIP events, and to get up close to the racing action.
Each morning our group will be briefed on the day's racing stage and the day's intinerary. All guests will be provided with information concerning each stage of the race and, of course, stage and route maps. Rather than ride every stage of the race, we have selected the best stages to ride but will also leave the race on select days to allow us to experience the best riding in California.
What isn’t included
Airfare, lodging and meals before and after the trip, bicycle assembly, rental, and shipping, alcoholic beverages, and personal items purchased during the trip.
What if I am traveling alone
Tour prices are per person based on double occupancy. Guests traveling alone have the option of sharing a room with another guest or paying a single supplement of $675 for a private room.
Getting There
All guests are responsible for getting themselves to the start of our tour and for making return travel arrangements from the conclusion of the race.
Lodging
We have selected from the best accommodations available to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. We will stay in upscale hotels and inns along the route.
Meals and Entertainment
From carefully selected restaurants and eateries to VIP race access, this tour will satisfy your every craving and desire! For the true bicycling fanatic, it is an unprecedented chance to witness and participate in the activities that make the Tour of California a great race! If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know in advance.
The Ride Pace and Mileage
Our group will consist of recreational, moderate, and advanced riders. Will have a low rider to guide ratio so that the group can naturally split into smaller groups allowing each guest to ride at his or her own pace. The route distances can be shortened or lengthened to accommodate differing desires. Our guides are experienced in handing groups with diverse abilities and will ensure that all guests enjoy the ride! Even non-riding guests can be accommodated.
Specialized Demo Bikes
Specialized Bicycles will be providing a limited number of demo bikes for us to use during the tour. Let us know when you register if you would like to try a Specialized bike. All guests should plan to bring their own bike as well. Contact us for more details.
Do I need to be a Specialized Riders Club Member to participate
Our trip to the AMGEN Tour of California is made possible through the support of the SpecializedRiders Club. The trip, however, is open to all of our customers, Club members, non-members, friends of members, riders, and non-riders alike.
That said, we do advocate supporting those companies that actively support the sport - joining the SpecializedRiders Club is fast, easy, and free, and is a great way to stay informed on upcoming events.
Bike Assembly
If you would like to send your bike in advance of the tour, we have partnered with a local bike shop which will receive, assemble and tune your bike and repackage and ship your bike back to you after the tour for an additional fee of $120. Contact us for more details.
Medical and Liability Release Forms
All guests are required to complete Medical Disclosure Form and Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability Form prior to tour departure. GUESTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOUR IF WE DO NOT HAVE COMPLETED FORMS IN ADVANCE.
