Copper Canyon, Mexico
Located in the remote Sierra Madre mountains of northern Mexico: Copper Canyon. This is for those who crave a truly adventurous cultural experience!
The trip starts with what is considered one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. You will see cascading waterfalls and sheer canyon walls that give way to rolling hills and tropical farmlands. Four times larger than Arizona’s Grand Canyon, this vast and rugged wilderness offers stunning vistas, sparkling lakes, waterfalls, and beautiful subtropical terrain. This isn't the type of place you should consider exploring without a guide. We use the latest GPS technology and the assistance of local riders to develop well-planned riders that take you into some of the most remote areas - yet back in time for dinner!
As you explore this historic trail network you’ll ride past pueblos and cave dwellings, rock formations and steep cliffs, and see remnants of the nearly extinct ways of life of the indigenous people. We will ride the 6000 ft. descent to the bottom of the canyon and one of the most remote villages in North America. Evenings are spent exploring area towns and feasting on our favorite Mexican food and, of course, after a long ride, nothing beats a cool cerveza at the end of the day.
Copper Canyon is a great new destination for mountain biking. From the rolling terrain of Creel, the downhill into the Canyon, or the trails on the canyon floor, riders enjoy a wide variety of riding opportunities sure to thrill and excite. The rides on this tour range from easy to moderate difficulty and are fun for all riding abilities. Our groups are small, between 6 - 10, so book early to avoid missing out on this exceptional experience.
